Anyone ever wonder what happened to the handwritten note? Well, I have and it really seems to have died off, but we did manage to get two after we announced our little one was on the way. I must say they are some of the sweetest cards I have ever received. Not sure why babies do this to people, but man these are eloquent and lovely!
I have to admit that I don’t really send cards anymore, but there is a reason for it. No one keeps them anymore and I felt like I was wasting my time. If anyone out there knows me, you also know that I am a pack rat, so I keep all my cards. First they get put on display until the hubs tells me “do something with this,” before he tosses it. Then, they go in a pile so I can compare the address to what I have in my address book. Lastly, they find a home in a closet or box. My husband hates it, but I just can’t stand to throw out something so thoughtful. I’m not sure why I can’t just get over someone throwing out my thoughtful gesture and get back to sending cards all the time. But it might have something to do with the fact that I can’t seem to throw anything out.
So, thanks to all my family and friends who do send me cards. I truly appreciate them and love getting your notes.
I still keep cards, but not *all* of them… mainly one that are handwritten or have some personal touch to them. I keep them in a file in my file cabinet, so no closet space consumed.

I know what you mean Ryan, there are times I go through and get rid of ones that don’t have any personal message in it, only a signature. I’m glad you subscribed, thanks! 🙂
