This Halloween was the first time L.L. was able to enjoy it. Lucky for us, she doesn’t know what candy is. What she did learn was how to Trick-or-treat, and boy did we have fun!
At first she wasn’t sure of walking up to strangers doors in the dark, but she quickly got used to it. I think a lot of that was trying to keep up with her new buddy, Calla. She would run and yell, “Wait, Calla, wait!” Over and over again. One time she even refused to move because the last time she saw Calla the girl was walking in the other direction. She didn’t move until she saw her down the block. It was very cute. I had to hold her bag as we walked from house to house. The twinkle star wand launched many rounds of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. And she had to wear the wings on upside down because they were top heavy otherwise. It was cuteness overload, all around!
We stayed out later than expected, but had such a good time that we didn’t care. Plus, even though we thought we would completely pay for it with overtired kids, somehow they both went down fairly easily. Momma and Daddy sure were tired the next day, though. Good thing we split L.L.’s candy between the two of us. ‘Cause a little sugar rush can help you through the slumps!
Hope you had a wonderful Halloween!
