This year our Christmas got much more fun. What ‘they’ say is true. Holidays with kids really is more fun! Even though L.L. didn’t completely understand what was happening it was loads of fun watching her so happy with the new gifts she got.
Everything was a gasp and wow in wonderment. It took us a while to get through all of the gifts, and truth be told; I opened a good number of them, but we all still had a great time.
We started off the day getting all of us up and at ’em after sleeping in until 8 am, it was incredible! Probably had something to do with our awesome Christmas Eve at our friend’s house. Acting out the nativity scene and reading from The Bible, ginger bread house decorating, yummy dinner, even better dessert with lots of hide and seeking. It was so great that one kid fell asleep on the way home and the other went gently to bed right away. Merry Christmas Parents!
Gil decided to get up at 7:30 and couldn’t believe he was the only one. I don’t recall how well we all slept that night, so I’m sure it was our normal couple of wake ups. We had to wait for about 10 minutes until L.L. noticed all the new gifts in the living room, but once she did it was ON!
Eventually, we ate breakfast and everyone enjoyed the day. The one story that I’ll share from the day was L.L. insistence on ‘going to work’. She got a Frozen back pack and that lit a fire in her to get out the door. She repeated over and over and over, “I gotta go to work.” As we walked around the block with her sparkling backpack, blue Frozen outfit and 10 new barrettes in her hair. It was epic.
How precious!!! Can’t wait to hold those babies!!
I also got an essential oil diffuser for Christmas. I’m hoping it helps to reduce my stress.
