Dad’s Day

Hello! I’m a week late, per usual, with this post. For the last week I was working on one of our family photo books. We purchased a discounted voucher (like Groupon) and it was about to expire. Man, those things take FOREVER! I tried to work on it every free minute I had and somehow I got it done – YAY! Can’t wait to get it in the mail.

Alright, now onto the main event: Father’s Day, 2013!

We had an even greater day, this year, for Dad’s Day. I made reservations for the Hoppy Father’s Day Brunch at Stone Brewery in Escondido. I hadn’t been there before, so it was a treat for me, too. We got there a little early, which worked out, because L.L. decided to snooze for the ride up. While I went to check us in, Daddy stayed with L.L. Stone was running a little behind on seating tables. Cool with me, since I wanted L.L. to get as much of a nap as she could to be happy through lunch. Next thing I knew, Daddy brought L.L. in because she woke up on her own, we waited a few more minutes and then we were off to our table. Time to relax and enjoy!

Now, I know that all the parents out there are snickering at that last one, but somehow we really did get to have a relaxing lunch together. It was over an hour and L.L. did wonderfully. No crying or pitching a fit to get down. She ate pierogis, her apple slices, and didn’t really love Mom and Dad’s food. Nor did she think her grilled cheese was all that awesome, but still ate some of it.

Daddy ordered the Chilaquiles Eggs Benedict and Momma got the Duck Confit Hash. We both loved our plates. Our Pierogi appetizer was also delicious. Afterwards we decided that we couldn’t seem to go wrong, so we ordered the Arrogant Bastard Ale Brownie Sundae. Surprisingly, which ended up being our least favorite dish! Even though, it was still yummy, the brownies weren’t warm so the ice cream was the stand out item in that one. L.L. even got in on the fun with her first taste of ice cream and thought it was pretty darn nifty, too!

Then, we looked at the koi pond, which made L.L. laugh, giggle and growl. Not sure what the growl was all about, but you can’t deny the cuteness when she does it. We took some family pictures and walked the grounds before heading to the car. Which didn’t seem to fancy L.L., at the time. She was much more interested in running around the parking lot. Since it wasn’t busy, Daddy followed her around and let her work off the sugar in the ice cream.

On the way home she snoozed some more and we reveled in our luck to have the most relaxing meal at a restaurant (to date) with our wonderful daughter. Even though the adults were all set up to nap once we got home, just like we did on Mom’s Day, L.L. had other plans. So we set off on a walk with Domingo, instead. It was a terrific day and I hope that Daddy had a wonderful time, too. We love you and appreciate all you do for us – Besos!

Yay - Daddy!
